Cancelling a recruitment process
Support for managers
On this page, you can read more about the procedures for cancelling a recruitment process.
Cancelling before the call for applications is released
If a recruitment process has been started in the recruitment system but has not yet been released with an advertisement/call for applications/vacancy notice/announcement*, you can cancel the recruitment process.
The cancellation is made in the recruitment system under “Decisions and closures”, and a comment explaining why the process is being cancelled must always be included.
Cancelling after the call for applications has been issued
If a recruitment process is cancelled after the advertisement/call for applications/vacancy notice/announcement* has been issued, there must be a valid reason for doing so.
The main rule is therefore that negotiations in accordance with Section 11 of the Employment (Co-Determination in the Workplace) Act, including the grounds for the cancellation, must take place before the recruitment is cancelled.
The Employment (Co-Determination in the Workplace) Act negotiations are conducted via a summary minutes. The minutes must be saved in the recruitment system under “Decisions and Closures”, where the case is then closed.
Contact
To receive support in the recruitment process, you should first contact your nearest HR support at your department/division or faculty/equivalent.
HR support varies across different parts of the university, which means that HR support can be located at the division level, department level, or administrative office level. If you do not know who your nearest HR support is, contact the HR manager at your administrative office/equivalent.
